The great Birthday Bash of 2004 is now officially a memory. It was a tremendous success with most everyone attending appearing to have gotten older on time for the event. Of course the women never age but all the guys were wearing one shirt size larger than the last time we saw each other. If us guys have to move uo another shirt size the neck holes will slip over our shoulders. There was only one reorted instance of anyone soaking their teeth in their tea glass after dinner, so manners were at a premium.
Dan Ed was a masterful MC, keeping everyone in check and under control, with the exception of our beloved Robert (Lefty Bob) Thompson. The night was dedicated to those 16 classmates we have lost over the years. Our own Reverend Loyd McCutchen paid a wonderfull prayerfull tribute to them. Dan Ed read a touching Thank You note from Lou Garrison's youngest daughter, Carly, who recently got married. She thanked us all for the great gift given her by the class and her appreciation for the class's dedication to her Mom.
We had three special attendees: Weldon Ray Hopgood and his wife, Amelia, attending their first get together with us since school days and Jimmy Stanton's wife, Cathy, who is recovering from a double transplant (heart and lungs) and making her first meeting of the rowdy bunch. It was a pleasure and an honor having them all there and we're all looking forward to many more get togethers with them.
So, for those of you who couldn't attend and those who did attend and now can't remember it, here's a few snapshots of the highlights...............
